Urban Research and Architecture: Beyond Henri Lefebvre
24. – 26. November 2009 | International Conference
ETH Zürich
This interdisciplinary conference is a decisive step in a long-term international project focused on the application and further development of Henri Lefebvre’s theory of the production of space in today’s empirical urban research and design. The conference will advance Lefebvre’s theory beyond its historical context. Rather than reflecting on case studies carried out by particular disciplines, this conference will develop Lefebvre’s work into a general theoretical framework, sharpening its analytical concepts, and conceiving new design tools in response to today’s processes of urbanization.
