In her lecture, Aisling O’Carroll outlines a geohistorical practice of reconstruction in landscape architecture that can be used to redesign contemporary practices. Hybrid tools from the fields of architecture and geology are used, integrating approaches from Anthropocene and feminist studies. Using “cautious dialogues” (Tsing et al., 2019), two 19th-century geoarchitectural case studies are examined to analyse historical events and their influence on current environmental crises.
