Online Open Doors: 16 June 2025, 12:30-13:00 | Link. The Application Window opens from July 2025. Start: Autumn semester 2025.
Think you know enough about regenerative materials and general sustainability?
You may be familiar with the benefits of earth and bio-based materials in terms of indoor air quality, thermal inertia and humidity regulation. But when it comes to quantifying these qualities, information is often scarce – and the complexity of the field can feel overwhelming.
The CAS ETH in Regenerative Materials – Hygrothermal Specialisation is for you! This programme provides a robust foundation in material properties and simulation tools to design and implement high-efficiency building envelopes using regenerative materials: earth, bio-based & reused. It teaches participants to quantify indoor air quality and comfort improvements, reduce energy demands, forecast moisture-related degradation risks and design for durability and long-lasting performance, considering HVAC systems and occupant well-being.
As with all of our programmes, complementary teaching methods are rooted in active learning. These include input lectures, visits to reference buildings, practical hands-on activities, interactive discussions, and group projects.
We will select a small group, from 8 to 12 professionals, decision-makers and practitioners in the construction sector—both from Switzerland and abroad. Target participants include HVAC engineers, architects, civil or structural engineers, project managers, municipal technical services, building contractors, and NGOs.
The Application Window will open in July 2025.
