Das MAS setzt sich zum Ziel, durch multidisziplinäre Ausbildung und Forschung auf hohem Niveau dazu beizutragen, Lösungen für die Herausforderungen des Wohnungsbaus in der Schweiz, in Europa sowie in Ländern mit niedrigem und mittlerem Einkommen weltweit zu finden.
Die Ausbildung konzentriert sich auf die Analyse der Herausforderungen im Wohnungswesen und auf die Nachhaltigkeit, Wirksamkeit und Bezahlbarkeit einer breiten Palette von Wohn- und Quartiersentwicklungsstrategien, die von Gemeinden, Genossenschaften, lokalen Regierungen, Nichtregierungs- und Regierungsbehörden sowie internationalen Organisationen in verschiedenen Ländern und Kontexten verfolgt werden.
Das MAS ETH in Housing nimmt jedes Jahr 10-12 qualifizierte Kandidatinnen und Kandidaten auf. Es richtet sich in erster Linie, aber nicht ausschliesslich, an Fachleute mit einem Hintergrund in Architektur, Stadtplanung oder Städtebau, sondern steht auch Bewerbern anderer Disziplinen mit Interesse am Wohnen offen.
