a. Editorial
Editorials are exclusively submitted by the editors of disP – The Planning Review. It is published in English and German (maximum length of English version: 750 words; maximum length of German version: 600 words).
b. Special Issues
Please contact the editorial team if you have suggestions for future special issues (include a proposal of max. two pages and a list of possible authors). Special issues should contain four to seven articles (each article max. 10,000 English** words). Guest editors may submit both a guest editorial (maximum length in English*: 750 words) and an introduction to the special issue (length no more than 10,000 English** words). Guest editors have to decide on either English, German, French, or Italian; it is possible to combine an English guest editorial with an introduction in either English, German, French, or Italian.

c. CityTour (either double-blind peer reviewed or non-peer reviewed)
The City Tour feature is essayistic and allows planners from all over the world to take our readers on a virtual tour of their chosen city. This may include highlighting certain aspects of the city, its urban dynamics and planning, its challenges and opportunities, the visible and the hidden. Text length in maximum 6,000 words*. Pictures and maps are welcome. The abstract should be no more than 250 words (in English only). For disP CityTours, authors may opt for a double-blind peer review, else it will be a single-blind review. Authors can either submit manuscripts or be invited by the editors. Double-blind peer-reviewed CityTours will be indicated. CityTours texts may be handed in upon invitation or simply submitted.

d. Peer-Reviewed Articles
Peer-reviewed articles are either full-length articles (6,000−10,000 English words*) or short articles (rapidly communicating new high-impact ideas or approaches; maximum 6000 English words**). The abstract should be no more than 250 words (in English only). Figures and tables should be in black & white; for figures in color please contact the editors in advance.

e. disP Forum (= non-peer-reviewed articles)
The disP Forum allows authors to contribute viewpoints, commentaries, and perspectives. It encourages constructive discussion about topics that have implications for academics and policymakers. It aims to provide new thinking on a current policy debate or an emerging political challenge. Authors can either submit manuscripts or be invited by the editors. disP Forum contributions will have a quick turnaround and will generally be single-blind reviewed. The final decision to accept the disP Forum manuscripts remains with the editors. disP Forum contributions have a maximum word count of 6,000* and may contain figures (b&w) and/or tables.

f. disP AESOP Section
Manuscripts for the disP AESOP section are exclusively submitted by the AESOP Secretariat General.
g. Book Reviews
Reviews of recently newly published books and new editions that relate to at least one of the topics of the journal. Book review length is to be approximately 400 to 750 words. Book reviews may be written in any of the official publication languages: German, French, Italian, or English. Please use clear, coherent, and concise language and refrain from using lists or footnotes. Please provide the following information relating to the book under review: name of author(s), year of publication, title/subtitle, place of publication and publisher, ISBN number. If possible, please include the number of pages and the price. In case you are interested in writing a book review, please contact the editorial team in advance. It is also possible to submit book reviews, and then editors will decide whether to include them.
