Promoting peace and reconciliation through cooperative housing in post-conflict Colombia

The project «Peacebuilding through housing cooperatives in Colombia» aims to contribute to the peace process in Colombia and supports the foundation process of the first housing cooperative of «ECOMUN – Economías Sociales del Común».

Access to adequate and affordable housing plays a key role in post-conflict peace building and reconciliation. By assisting «ECOMUN – Economías Sociales del Común» in the creation of its first housing cooperative «Ciudadelas de Paz» the ETH Wohnforum – ETH CASE is supporting peacebuilding in Colombia, a country recovering from over 50 years of armed conflict.

In collaboration with the Department of Architecture of National University of Colombia the ETH Wohnforum – ETH CASE is supporting 350 women and men in planning and designing their housing cooperative and in building a community centre.

The project «Peacebuilding through Housing Cooperatives in Colombia» is supported by ABZ and the City of Zurich.
