Ideen zur Verdichtung der rapide urbanisierten Schweiz gibt es schon seit Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts. Wir präsentieren Ihnen den Zusammenhang von Verdichtung und Ökosystemleistungen, die Auswirkungen der Schweizer Verdichtungspolitik – gemäss dem neuen Lehrstuhl für Raumentwicklung und Stadtpolitik (SPUR) von David Kaufmann – und die Zukunftsperspektiven des nicht gewinnorientierten Siedlungsbestandes der Schweiz. Ausserdem stellen sich Kay Axhausen, der neue NSL Direktor, und Anastasios Kouvelas, aktueller Leiter der Gruppe Strassenverkehrstechnik, vor.

The Institute for Landscape and Urban Studies (LUS) has been founded as part of the Department of Architecture, with the Professors Christophe Girot, Hubert Klumpner, Freek Persyn, Christian Schmid, Milica Topalovic, and Günther Vogt. It replaces the three previous Institutes for Urban Design (ISB), Landscape Architecture (ILA) and the Contemporary City Institute (CCI).

Densification policies are at the core of the current revisions of the Swiss Spatial Planning Act. This new research project at the group of Spatial Development and Urban Policy (SPUR) analyzes the effects of densification policies on the housing market and the socio-economic population composition by making use of quasi-experimental research designs. We compare areas that have been singled out for a denser settlement development with very similar areas that have not been subject to such densification interventions. Prof. Dr. David Kaufmann

Darunter Dr. David Kaufmann (*1985), zurzeit Postdoktorand an der Universität Bern, zum Tenure-Track-Assistenzprofessor für Raumentwicklung und Stadtpolitik.

«Mit einer intelligenten Verkehrspolitik in die multimobile Zukunft», lautet der Titel der vom Bundesamt für Raumentwicklung ARE verfassten Medienmitteilung zur ersten Nationalen Mobilitätskonferenz, die Ende August in Bern stattfand. Mit einer Open Session daran teilgenommen haben Miriam Lüdi und Sibylle Wälty. Sie zeigten auf, wieso eine Abstimmung der Siedlungs- und Verkehrsplanung aber unabdingbar ist. Denn: Die Verkehrspolitik kann noch so intelligent sein, ohne eine ebenfalls intelligente Siedlungspolitik wird ihr eine haushälterische Bodennutzung nicht gelingen.

Das Schlagwort «Partizipation» ist in aller Munde. Aber verstehen wir alle dasselbe darunter? Meinen wir Demokratie oder Engagement? Sprechen wir von bottom-up oder top-down Methoden? Geht es darum, gemeinsam zu diskutieren, gemeinsam zu entscheiden oder sogar gemeinsam etwas umzusetzen? Und vor allem: Wie lädt man zum Partizipieren, Mitmachen und Teilhaben ein? An der Pitch Night teilen Vertreter*innen unterschiedlicher Disziplinen in kurzen Input-Referaten ihre Sicht auf das Thema und vor allem auch ihre Herangehensweise. So erhalten wir unter anderem Einblick in partizipative Formen von Stadtplanung, Medien oder Kunst.
